Get Involved

How do you get involved in Rugby League in the Province?

The mandate of the RLBC is to grow the sport in the province and that extends to participation, governance, promotion, and fundraising for Rugby League programming.  We are always looking for new participants to try the game and who are willing to share (and develop) their love for the game or the promotion of sport generally.

The growth of the game in the province needs you!  So, how can you get involved?

Players

Whether you are new to the game or an experienced player in the province, we welcome you to try the game and to join us.  The RLBC, often in conjunction with the CRLA, host "Try Rugby League" events for those who want to enjoy the excitement of rugby league.  The RLBC is the home of the largest domestic competition in the country with six men's clubs and two women's clubs located in the lower mainland and along the sea to sky corridor for those looking to join competitive rugby league.

If you are outside of the Lower Mainland, we are interested in chatting with you to see how we can facilitate your involvement, whether that be through our annual "9's Tournament" or, potentially, in creating clubs in other regions of the province.

For more information, we invite you to reach out to our director of rugby, Stephen Lenahan, at Stephen.Lenahan@rugbyleaguebc.ca.

Coaches

If you have experience coaching or if you want to get involved in learning the sport to contribute to coaching we often host coaching seminars and have potential positions where your skills can be utilized.

For more information, we invite you to reach out to our director of rugby, Stephen Lenahan, at Stephen.Lenahan@rugbyleaguebc.ca.

Governance and Volunteers

The RLBC is operated by a very dedicated group of individuals with a real passion for Rugby league.  There is a lot to do and the assistance from others (whether those contributions are big or small) is always welcome.  We have goals to promote events for our representative teams, developing the women's program, and fostering more youth and wheel-chair rugby league opportunities to allow everyone to enjoy Rugby League.

Our efforts require planning, development, execution, communication, and fundraising.  We have a number of opportunities for individuals to get involved and welcome you to reach out to us to find a place where your interests and skill-set can be utilized to foster the growth of the game.

We invite you to reach out to our President, Blake Stewart at blake.stewart@rugbyleaguebc.ca to introduce yourself and discuss potential opportunities.

Sponsorship

We have a number of corporate sponsorship opportunities available and would welcome an opportunity to discuss how we can curate a mutually beneficial relationship with you. Please click here to find out more about sponsorship opportunities.
