The mandate of Rugby League British Columbia is to grow and develop the sport across the province. This includes participation on the field, as well as governance, promotion, and fundraising that support rugby league programs at every level.
We are always looking for new players, volunteers, officials, coaches, and supporters who are interested in trying the game or helping to grow and promote rugby league in British Columbia.
The growth of rugby league in the province depends on people like you.
So, how can you get involved?
Whether you are new to the game or an experienced player, Rugby League British Columbia welcomes you to get involved and be part of our growing community.
RLBC, often in partnership with Canada Rugby League, hosts “Try Rugby League” events for those looking to experience the excitement and fast pace of rugby league in a fun and supportive environment.
Rugby League British Columbia is home to the largest domestic rugby league competition in Canada, with six men’s clubs and two women’s clubs based in the Lower Mainland and the Sea-to-Sky corridor for players seeking competitive opportunities.
If you are located outside the Lower Mainland, we are keen to connect and explore ways to support your involvement—whether through our annual Rugby League 9s Tournament or by assisting with the development of new clubs in other regions of the province.
For more information, please contact Director of Rugby Stephen Lenahan at Stephen.Lenahan@rugbyleaguebc.ca
If you have coaching experience or are interested in learning the game and developing as a coach, Rugby League British Columbia offers opportunities to get involved at all levels of the sport.
RLBC regularly hosts coaching seminars and development opportunities, and there may be positions available where your skills and passion can make a meaningful impact.

Rugby League British Columbia is operated by a dedicated group of volunteers who share a strong passion for the growth and development of rugby league.
There is always a great deal to be done, and support of all kinds, big or small, is always welcome. RLBC is actively working to promote representative team events, continue the development of the women’s game, and expand opportunities in youth and wheelchair rugby league, ensuring the sport is accessible to everyone.
Our work spans planning, development, event delivery, communication, and fundraising, and there are many ways for individuals to contribute based on their interests and skill sets.
If you are interested in getting involved, we encourage you to reach out to RLBC President Blake Stewart at blake.stewart@rugbyleaguebc.ca to introduce yourself and discuss potential opportunities.
Rugby League British Columbia offers a range of corporate sponsorship opportunities and would welcome the opportunity to explore how we can build a mutually beneficial partnership.
